Montserrat Mendez is a Writer, Director and self-described art-cheologist, Originally from Rincon, Puerto Rico, Montserrat thrives in NYC's independent theatre scene, acclaimed for his work. With a Literature and Theatre degree from the University of Scranton, he's earned critical praise for his plays, notably "Thoroughly Stupid Things." As a screenwriter, he's gained recognition from prestigious fellowships and labs, notably for "Chisholm - A Woman of Brooklyn." Montserrat's passion lies in storytelling that explores human identity and promotes societal change.

The Center for Equity and Inclusion (CEI) was established as a part of Pratt Institute's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in 2016. The mission of the CEI is to educate, empower, and advocate for students, faculty and staff to raise critical consciousness around diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
